“SUPER-SUPER FUN!

“It was very, very exciting. Kasi, it was also my first time to watch myself on the big screen. So, medyo na-awkward ako, pero okey lang.

“Parang nahiya (ako). Ha! Ha! Ha! Something like that, pero I’m proud na part ako ng team ng Panday. And of course, I’m proud to work with Coco Martin,” pakli ng dalaga.

“Hopefully, meron. I want to work on that,” nakangiting sagot ni Mariel.

First directorial job ni Coco itong Ang Panday. Kamusta si Coco bilang direktor?

“Super-super galing. Kasi, for every scene, every detail, he sees sa monitor and he knows what he wants and the direction that he gives is very clear. So, hindi ka malilito sa scene. He really knows what he wants,” papuri niya sa Kapamilya Primetime King.

“Well, that’s up to them. Kasi for me, I’m happy with the movie and with what I did. It’s up to them na lang what they think.”

Mabilis mag-move on

Just like a true millennial, tila naka-move on na kaagad si Mariel mula sa hindi kagandahang karanasan niya sa Miss International pageant kung saan hindi na nga siya pinalad na manalo ay may mga nam-bash pa sa kanya sa social media.

“Wala nang pressure, wala nang stress. Kain and tulog na lang. Ha! Ha! Ha!” tawa ng magandang daughter nina Christopher de Leon at Sandy Andolong.

“Ako, naka-move on. ‘Yung ibang tao, hindi. Ha! Ha! Ha! Okey lang. Kasi, not my problem naman. Kasi ako, okey lang.”

Wala ba siyang moment of depression after what happened?

“I was sad for like one day. Tapos, the next day, okey na.”

Ganu’n daw ang millennials, ‘di ba? Mabilis mag-move on from something?

“Oo. Ha! Ha!

I’m the type of person na parang I don’t hold on much. I move on from things quickly, even ex-boyfriends. I move on to other things.”

Anyareh? Bakit sila nag-break ng kanyang boyfie?

“No, we talked about it naman. Kasi, we noticed na our schedules are very different. Especially with me, like I’m starting my career in showbiz plus ‘yung Miss International. Tapos siya, he’s very business (minded). So, parang hindi nag-match.”

Siya ba ang nakipag-break?

“Ahmm, mutual naman. I mean, we still talk, but there’s an understanding na since we’re both young, we want to build up ourselves muna and hopefully, save money. So that in the future, puwede nang mag-settle.”

“No, pero we’ll see. Kasi, well, just now, it’s not totally ano naman, zero. More of parang work on ourselves muna, tapos ‘pag kaya and ‘pag independent na, saka na.”

“Well, I know how to manage my schedule naman and it’s not like everyday, kailangan kong mag-training,” mabilis niyang tugon.

“Kasi, ‘yung Panday, it’s only twice a week. So, I have 5 more days for my Miss International preparations. So, I think I handled that well including the pressure from both movie industry and the pageant industry.”

As in wala siyang na-neglect na duties niya o kung anuman?

“Wala. I went to to all my work for Binibini and for Panday also.”

Ayon kay Mariel, after ng kanyang pageant experience, definitely, she is more confident and wiser now. At saka she’s not afraid to be herself.

After her Panday experience naman, she learned how to be more flexible in terms of her environment and the people around her.

“No. When she said that, I just made my reply and I let it go na. Kasi, I don’t wanna waste my time on negative things and negative people,” sambit ni Mariel.

Sa December 25 ang simula ng showing sa mga sinehan nationwide ng Ang Panday na produced and directed by Rodel Nacianceno a.k.a. Coco Martin.
