Maxene Magalona & Robby Mananquil, after 2 years pa ang honeymoon; Francis M, nagparamdam sa kasal
DAMANG-DAMA ang presence ng late Master Rapper na si Francis Magalona sa kasal ng daughter nito na si Maxene Sofia Arroyo Magalona.
Last Thursday, January 11, ginanap ang all-white, beach chic wedding ni Maxene sa musician na si Robby Mananquil sa Alon Garden ng Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa sa Malay, Aklan.
The radiant bride, in her white Vera Wang gown, walked down the aisle habang pini-play ang hit song ni FrancisM na Girl Be Mine.
Ang bridal bouquet ni Maxx ay may nakalagay na locket na may picture ni Kiko sa loob.
At habang naglalakad si Maxx papunta sa mother niyang si Pia Arroyo-Magalona who was waiting for her sa gitna ng aisle, biglang may lumipad na maliit na brown butterfly between them, na napansin mismo ng mag-ina.
Maxx and Pia both agreed na that was Francis, giving away his daughter on her wedding day.
Madalas pala kasing may lumalabas na brown butterfly or brown moth sa mga special occasion ng pamilya and they always acknowledge na that’s Kiko’s way of making his presence felt.
Hanggang sa reception ay may FrancisM feels din dahil may tribute number si Maxene for her dad where she sang Kaleidoscope World while her husband Rob was on guitars and her brother Frank was on drums. May pinalabas pang tribute video made by Frank.
Elmo Magalona performed Cold Summer Nights with ka-loveteam (and girlfriend?) Janella Salvador. Frank and Elmo, with their brothers Arkin and Nicolo Fernando jammed to Three Stars and A Sun.
When the guwapo Mags boys were joined by their mom Pia onstage, they all sang Girl Be Mine, kaya ang saya-saya ng lahat lalo na ang bride na si Maxx.

During the exchange of wedding vows, nakakaiyak ‘yung part na binanggit ni Maxene ang kanyang late dad (who passed away in 2009).
Naluluhang bulalas niya kay Robby, “There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t wish that you had met my dad. If he were here today, I just know how much he would love you.
“The way you’re deeply passionate about your music was how he was with his. The way you love your dog Chewie was the way he loved his chihuahua Gringo. The way you love and take care of me was the way he loved and took care of my mom and our family.
“And as I stand before you on this special day, in front of all of our family and friends, I say without a doubt that I know that Papa is happy for you and me. I can feel it in my heart and soul that he loves for the way that you love me.”
Music idol ni Rob ang late King of Pinoy Rap na si FrancisM. While Maxx was walking towards him during the bridal march na tinutugtog ang Girl Be Mine ay tumatalon-talon sa tuwa si Rob, na bunsong anak ng lifestyle editor ng Philippine Star na si Ms. Millet Martinez-Mananquil.
Rob mentioned a penguin in his wedding vows.
Bulalas ng dating model at nag-artista rin na si Rob na ngayon ay gitarista ng bandang Pulso, “They say penguins only have one mate in their entire life, and propose by giving their mate a pebble. I promise to be your penguin, the one who searched for the perfect stone, and I promise I will love you till my last breath and never leave your side.
“I promise to take care of you till the hundred years of our life in this amazing planet. I love you so much my best friend turned into girlfriend, then fiancée, and now to be my wife. You cannot imagine the amount of joy you have sparked into my life, and for that, I’m forever grateful to you and to God.”

Before the garden wedding in Boracay ay nauna ang intimate, morning church wedding nina Maxene and Robby sa Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati, last Monday, January 8.
Very private ang nasabing okasyon, na kumpleto ang principal sponsors, except for Mr. Tony Tuviera na hindi naka-attend.
Ninong sina Richard Gomez, Michael V, Ben Chan, Keren Pascual at Gary Valenciano. Ninang sina Lucy Torres-Gomez, Malou Choa-Fagar, Carol Bunagan, Virgie Ramos, Rubby Coyuito and Aivee Aguilar-Teo.
Ang nakadalo lang sa Boracay wedding among the principal sponsors ay sina Gary V. at Dra. Aivee.
Ang Manila wedding reception ay ginanap sa Sala resto sa Ayala Avenue, Makati. Solemn and private ang kasal sa simbahan, na ni walang coordinators at sila-sila lang.
Gary V. was raving about the church wedding at pati ‘yung sa Boracay ay puring-puri niya for being one of the most beautiful weddings that he ever attended. Gary went to Bora with his wife Angeli. During the reception ay hindi lang kumanta kundi sumayaw pa si Mr. Pure Energy, to the delight of everyone, especially the newlyweds.
And the best speech award goes to…
The bride changed into a white Vania Romoff dress during the reception, na ang nakasalo ng bridal bouquet ay ang isa sa bridesmaids na si Megan Young, na tila na-beastmode para makuha ang bulaklak.
Sinuotan siya ng garter ng boyfie niyang si Mikael Daez. Panay ang kantiyaw ng lahat sa dalawa na dapat ay sila na ang sunod na magpakasal.
Bridesmaid din si Lauren Young, who came with non-showbiz boyfriend, Robbie Garcia. Cord sponsor si Julia Montes, na nakatrabaho ni Maxx sa afternoon soap na Doble Kara.
Candle sponsor si Elmo, cord sponsor si Frank, junior bridesmaid si Clara at Bible bearer si Arkin Magalona.
Best speech para sa amin ang sa sister of the bride at matron of honor na si Saab Magalona-Bacarro. Hindi nakapunta ng Bora ang buntis na si Saab dahil nasa 3rd trimester na ang tiyan niya at hindi siya pinayagan ng doktor niya na magbiyahe.
Ang ganda ng touching speech ni Saab at panay din ang iyak nito. Kahit video message lang ay suot ni Saab ang wedding outfit niya na para dapat sa Bora.
As usual ay bongga rin ang speech ng mother of the bride na si Pia Magalona (just like her speech sa Baguio wedding ni Saab). Nakakaaliw magsalita si Pia, always funny and witty na may kurot. At sa daldal niya, she can host her own talk show.
May ipinamigay na special awards during the reception at nanalong Best Dressed Female si Janella. Walang nakahalata na baligtad ang suot na white dress ng Kapamilya star, na namali ng suot at ‘yung dapat sana ay sa likod ay napunta sa harapan.
Alam namin ito dahil sinabi sa amin mismo ng dalaga. Natatawa niyang ipinakita sa amin ang etiketa sa bandang dibdib niya na dapat ay nasa likuran. Buti na lang, ‘yung style ng dress ay puwedeng maging harap ang likod kaya walang nakapansin sa minor wardrobe gaffe ni Janella.
In fairness to us ay wagi rin kami ng special award that night. Nanalong Best Picture ‘yung sunset shot namin sa newlyweds. Ito ang napili from all the pics under the event’s official hashtag #iROByouveryMAXX.
Europe can wait
Taong 2015 nagsimula ang relasyon nina Maxene at Robby. Nu’ng taon din na ‘yon ikinasal si Saab sa musician boyfriend nito na si Jim Bacarro sa Baguio City.
Valentine’s Day last year nag-propose si Rob kay Maxx sa Japan.
The night after the wedding ay nakausap namin ang bagong kasal nang makita namin silang nagtsi-chill out with some friends sa may White Beach.
When we asked kung saan ang kanilang honeymoon, ang sagot ng mag-asawa ay 2 years pa bago sila magha-honeymoon. Magwu-work at mag-iipon daw muna sila.
Europe ang bet nilang puntahan. Si Rob ay sa Berlin, Germany gustong pumunta for its culture habang si Maxx ay sa Italy para sa masarap na food.
After ng kasal ay nag-stay pa ang newlyweds sa Boracay until today, January 15. Sa February ay fly sila to Japan to celebrate their engagement on Valentine’s Day.
“Oh, eh ‘di parang pre-honeymoon n’yo na rin ‘yon?” sabi namin kay Rob.
“Parang ganu’n na rin nga,” sagot nito.
Sey ng 31-anyos na si Mrs. Maxene Magalona-Mananquil, they want to enjoy each other first bilang mag-asawa bago sila magkaanak. But she told us na hindi nila ito paplanuhin at kung dumating ay tatanggapin nila ang nasabing blessing.
