And because 8 is my favorite number (‘yun ang totoong dahilan, hehe!).

Ang sasalang today is prolific singer-songwriter OGIE ALCASID. One of the biggest hitmakers in the Philippine music industry and the hardworking President of OPM (Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aaawit).

He composes the most heart-tugging ballads and through the years, his songs have become the soundtrack of our lives.

Tatay ni Nate. Mister ni Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. Isa sa pinakama-PR at pinaka-generous na tao sa buong showbiz and an all-around good guy in real life.

Tomorrow night, he will have a pre-Valentine concert at the MOA Arena called #paMORE (hashtag pa-MORE) with wifey Regine, and friends Martin Nievera and Erik Santos.

1. If you can sing just one song for the rest of your life, what will it be and why?

One song? Gusto ko ‘yung kay Elvis Presley na… (sings) Can’t Help Falling in Love. Well, ‘yan ang song ko sa asawa ko nu’ng nililigawan ko siya. Yeah, that’s the song.

2. If you can have a duet with someone famous, living or dead, who would you choose and why?

I would want to sing either Tomorrow or The Way We Were with Barbra Streisand. Barbra Streisand has that effect on anyone that when she sings, she sings from the heart.

Siya talaga ‘yung staple siguro ng lahat ng balladeers. Because basically, she is a balladeer, ‘di ba? ‘Yun naman siya, eh. Ang dami na niyang nagawa—theater, Broadway, movies. But kung susuriin mo ‘yung puso niya, talagang singer siya, eh.

3. If you can have your dream concert anywhere in the world, where will you do it and why?

Dream concert? Siguro gusto ko sanang mag-concert sa Israel. Tapos, kumanta ako ng mga worship songs. Type ko ‘yon.

Unang-una, hindi pa ako nakakapunta roon. Pero nakakarinig na kasi ako nu’ng… hindi ko alam kung alam n’yo ‘yung grupo na Hillsong. Nagko-concert sila du’n, eh. Eh, parang ang ganda. Parang gusto ko sana.

4. What’s the best thing about being Ogie Alcasid?

I think the best… parang wala naman akong kaaway. Wala akong nakikilalang galit sa akin. Siguro, ang galit lang sa akin ‘yung asawa ko, minsan. Ha! Ha! Ha! Wala, wala akong kaaway.

5. A good night of music or a good night of sex?

Mus… wow, mahirap ‘yon. Sex pa rin! He! He! He! Kasi, pagkatapos nu’n, puwede ka nang matulog. Kahit walang music. Ha! Ha! Ha!

6. Name your Top 3 sexiest women in the Philippines?
Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. O, ‘di ba? Si Jodi Sta. Maria, I find her so beautiful. Sa akin, ha? ‘Yung aura niya, ‘yung personalidad niya, hindi ko (ma-explain), basta nagagandahan ako sa kanya.

7. If you can give Regine the best Valentine date ever, what’s it gonna be?

Alam mo, lagi niyang tinatanong sa akin ‘yan. “Let’s go on a date?” But my date would be, hindi ako magbibihis sa bahay. Sa ibang bahay ako magbibihis o sa hotel. Magdadamit ako ng suit, susunduin ko siya, magdi-dinner kami, tapos manonood kami ng Side A! ‘Yun lang.

8. If your life will be turned into a musical, what would it be like and what title will you give it?

The musical will be called NakakaLokal. Kasi, ‘yan ‘yung affair ko sa OPM. Inlab na inlab ako sa music natin. ‘Yun lang!
